So, I would say for the past month I’ve been working in Krita as I don’t have my iPad on hand. I’ve been using my laptop to draw. It was hard at first and to be honest I hated Krita’s interface, it was so complicated and so different from Procreate and the last time I seriously used an application like that was in my photoshop class in my sophomore year of high school.
That was a while ago. I had no choice but to persevere since I don’t have my iPad on hand. So, I pushed learning which brushes I liked, selection tool and layer masks.
I even learned how to make my own font and add text in Krita. Now the last major thing I’m having trouble to learn is how to record in Krita, I know you have to download the ffmpeg thing, in which I did just that, but I don’t know what error occurred because my speed paint wouldn’t render but that’s a problem for another day and that problem does not stand in my way of creating digital art. So, I’m not too worried about it.
Once I’ve made my own personal challenge of making a semi-realistic artwork, I’ve realized that I was ready for the next challenge, which was to see if I could replicate my own anime(ish) art style into Krita. I made a drawing of my OC from the novel I’m writing and once I completed that drawing I saw that I was indeed able to draw in my regular style.
So, now I think I’m ready to begin the 3rd chapter of my short webcomic and I already began the sketches. It brings excitement to my heart to be able to start the webcomic again. On the bottom are some of the drawings that I created in Krita, starting from one of the oldest ones I made to the latest one.
