Nails

I just so happened to file my nails today. It was something I’ve been planning to, but my nails would always break. I’ve actually never filed my nails before, and I only put on nail polish like 3 times in my life and I’m 20 years old right now. I would assume that its surprising,…

I just so happened to file my nails today. It was something I’ve been planning to, but my nails would always break. I’ve actually never filed my nails before, and I only put on nail polish like 3 times in my life and I’m 20 years old right now. I would assume that its surprising, since most girls wear nails, my co-workers would always have a new polish every week or so, even when I was in grade schoolgirls would have polish or fake nails, but I’ve never really participated in that.

My mother always told me that my hands are built for a piano, and I would say I agree with her, hopefully I can learn to play the piano in the future.

Scrolling on Pinterest is a past time for me, especially when I’m trying to look for a reference to help me draw and what do artists all struggle with?

Hands!

I’m always trying to get the perfect posture for hands, the most delicate if I’m drawing a girl, or perhaps a fierce hand pose like a fist to show to the viewer that the character is angry, and as I would scroll, I would see pretty hands, of girls, with long fingers and long nails, polished and I took a liking.

The more I scrolled looking at these pretty hands, the more I looked at my own hands and compared. I wondered how they would pose their fingers so fine, the lighting even complimented the glimmer on their nails.

Soon I set myself on a journey to grow out my nails, as I would always keep them short, when I was little though, I liked to keep my nails long because I noticed that having long nails would help me tie my shoelaces all by myself.

So, I started to grow out my nails, they grow fast because I always cut them at least once a month, so after a month I grew out my nails and well, they cracked and teared off. I thought what a bummer and cut off all my nails. I tried again in June, because I wanted to have long length, and my nails were growing, I looked at them every day. Though they were uneven, one side longer than the other, I tried to ignore that. Once again, my nail cracked, and it was my own fault because I was trying to bite off the skin and chipped away at my nail on my right thumb. It didn’t tear off since it was small, but the crack grew. Its unnoticeable, so hastily when I got a chance, I got my nail filer and filed my nails. I had already watched videos on how to file your nails and I wanted them to like the polished pretty nails on Pinterest, but it doesn’t. However, I don’t think it’s that bad, at least for a first try.
